Made this for someone special's birthday.. sshhh!

I MADE A THING!

Quite chuffed with this one... First, take an old laundry tablet box...

Then take some very pretty paper (I used Pink Petticoat's 'Flourishes' in Pebble, both negative and positive) and a lot of glue, some ribbon, flowers, pearls, hinges and a nice sentiment.....

... and you get this:

I painted the whole thing a very pale white-with-a-hint-of-blue and left it to dry. Then I tore the papers up and then sort of papier-macheted it all over, set in the hinges (Poppicrafts, of course!), inked around the edges to get that 'distressed' look; then added ribbon and stuff. I quite like it.

I made it to keep some cards in at work. TFL xx

OOH! AN AWARD!!

HAPPY EASTER!

Two really simple Easter cards, using Pink Petticoat papers and the free Pink Chick Kit download. Very quick to make but I think they're really effective. TFL xx

COUPLA BIRTHDAY BABES...

.. for twin girls who are six this week. Hope they like them - inside I made a teeny envelope and put a cheque in it (their Mum has no more room for any more stuff - know how she feels!) xx

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES....

... well, out of the mouth of MY babe, actually.
On the way to drop her off this morning, she yells "Yay, it's Easter tomorrow!! Lots of chocolate!!"
Me: " It's not all about chocolate, you know"
Lil G: "Yes, Mum, I KNOW!!"
Me: "Go on then, what IS Easter all about?"
Lil G: "It's when they put Jesus up on the cross"
Me: "Yes. Then what happened?"
Lil G: "They put a tea-towel round his bum.." (I'm in bits, laughing)
..."And then he came back to life!! Amazing!! Maybe they didn't pin him up properly".......
(Now I'm crying and in a lot of pain around the ribs).

So there you have it. For thousands of years, we've all believed it was a miracle, when all the time it was down to dodgy nails.....

TIME FOR A CHANGE...

... came home from a long day on site and just felt like a change... What do you think? x

40TH BIRTHDAY BASH... IT'S ALL OVER...

.. and it went very well, from what I remember. I had a magic glass! It got filled at the start of the night and never emptied! How cool is that??

Anyway, I wanted to share with you that one of the highlights of the weekend was that I eventually got to meet the very talented Tracey! It was brilliant to finally meet her in person and we had a great laugh - I'll tell you the saga of the false eyelashes one day! - and sat up till all hours making sand boxes to hold down the helium balloons.

She also brought Lil G and me some fantastic cards:

and it's full of brilliant images for her to colour. She's thrilled to bits, as am I. It was so good to finally meet her in person. She's had a really tough time just lately and I hope she knows that I'm always there for her and how much I value our friendship.

So, it's now the Easter hols, so off to get a load of stuff for Lil G to make/colour/paint, etc! x
