BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY....

Right then, can't do anything about it so I'm going to damn well enjoy it! On Thursday I will be 40...... (sob!). So in honour of this momentous occasion, I thought I would give away some lovely blog candy. (Should have hoovered the rug first *blush*!!)

There are (deep breath!) :

Mini cards/envelopes; Peel offs; Stickers; Flowers; Mini roses; Leaves; 2 x Craft scissors; Fancy folding template; Assorted embellishments; 5 m of red/gold 15 mm ribbon; Rub-ons; Paper packs; Assorted A4 cardstock (glitter/mirri/holo/pastel/black/white); Raffia; Chipboard letters - self-adhesive; PM Brass stencil; Ribbon brads; Gems; And a load of 12 x 12 papers!

If you'd like it, please leave me a message on my blog with your most imaginitive (yet feasible!) idea for what to do for my birthday and a link on your blog to mine to this post and I'll get Lil G to draw out the winner's name on Wednesday (21st) night - about 7 pm (cos she goes to bed then!).

Good luck!! xx Debs, aged 39.....
PS I've got say that o/h took the photo, perched precariously on a stepladder, so thank you Sexybum xx (he'll sulk for days, else LOL)

I think being 40 is the PERFECT reason to celebrate being young at heart Debs so I reckon jelly and ice cream and cake and a game of musical statues with Lil G to bring out the big kid in you. Not forgetting the daft party hats as well of course!

Well, they say that life begins at 40, so I think it's a day to visit to a fun theme park and go on some of those scary rides! Whatever you do, I hope you have a super day.

Hiya Youngster!!!

Mmmmmmmm your 40th.... well on reading your blog and messages on Do crafts.. i can not se you as being the sort of person who will get much enjoyment out of getting drunk and going clubbing and thats not very original anyway...

On my 40th... which was 4 weeks after having a mastectomy, myself and 6 friends went to a comedy show in a local hotel.... after a meal... I almost wet myself with the very last comedian... he did a 15 minute stint on boobs!!! my friends and sister were making faces like lemons or goldfishes... but its what I needed... normality and confrontation... it worked for me and for my friends once they saw that if anything it helped me..

We had planned before my diagnosis on doing a stint round the pubs and clubs... I'm so glad we didnt

Right for you.... Nothing comes home more than your relationship with lil G.. its lovely to read about.... and lately your reluctance with that old number 40.... wellllllllllll I think a purchase of however many balloons you can afford (40 would be good but might work out a bit costly) get them filled with helium. Write out tags with your blog details on and a message that means something to you about leaving 39 and moving into 40.... take them and whoever you want to a special to you place and let them go.... if this could be incorporated in a teatime picnic /bbq then all the better...

I will now go link your blog candy from my blog to yours...

Hi Debs

I have added your celebrations to my blog spot!

I think you should have a day of crafting while watching the crafting channels. Then get the other half to cooking a fantastic meal followed by a extra special bottle of wine or bubbly!

Afterwards your pick of any film and whatever you fancy from there ;o)

Im sure you will enjoy it what ever you choose!

Spend the day doing exactly what you want...maybe shopping (for crafty stuff of course)...girly tea with Lil G (with lots of giggles) then later maybe a nice bubbly bath followed by your favourite meal (cooked by the man of your dreams ...sexy bum of course) and of course lots of lovely cards and pressies ...have a fabulous day

I can't wait to be 40 Debs, life begins and all that, i hit that milestone next year. Well i suggest that you and lil G have a girly day out. Hairdressers, you can get something totally different and wild and lil G can get her hair put up, then nails, go funky get some little jewels put on them, then shopping, treat yourselves to an outfit each and last but not least a family dinner out and don't forget to wear a big smile that you look so good at 40. Have a great day. Donnax

Oh its mine next year - think the ideas so far are really good.
What about taking the 0 of 40 and have a day with your gorgeous Lil G at the park. Take a picnic (with cake of course) and go on the slide, roundabout and swings - just like you did when you were 4!!
Added link to my blog - have a cracking day, whatever you do!

Well, whatever you do, don't do what i did when i was 30 and get your tongue pierced....OUCH!!!! Right then, 40....I think you should spend the day with the kids and family, let them enjoy making a fuss of you. Take them somewhere nice and really enjoy yourself. In the evening however, this is just for you and 'sexybum'. Book a lovely restaurant, a hotel with a spa. Just make the most of being 40 with the hubby. Take time just to be you and not what everyone else expects you to be.

Sincerely wishing you a happy birthday Debs, massive hug too. Mand xxx

How about trying to meet 40 cards around the time of your birthday, then a nice meal in the evening? Enjoy your birthday.

Ok this is my idea - I have googled the area of the country you live in and this is the nearest place - http://www.thepotterypaintingcafe.co.uk/
My idea is to go there and both of you do a handprint plate with the date one so you can keep it forever. I would also make a photo diary of the day taking lots of photos and either scrapbook it after or make it into a montage.

Hope you like it x

Happy Birthday from one 40 year old to another!! It's not as bad as everyone says, and you so rightly point out there's nothing you can do about it anyway. Why not put banners all around the town announcing your birthday so that everyone knows that you just don't care!!! Have a great day. Denise x

I'm celebrating my big birthday (50) with a trip to Disneyland Paris with my mum, my sister and my nephews.I'm also having a BBQ for everyone I've ever known in the last 50 years!! So for me birthdays are families, food and fun!

Well well Debs the big 40....just a babe compared to me. I think you should have a quiet evening in with hubby, open a bottle of wine and celebrate the fact that you've still got your hair and all of your teeth.
