I really am pulling my hair out now...
I've got an order for three wedding cards, which is great. And they all need the names of the happy couple on them, which is great. The only problem is that I've tried the method of printing onto card and then sprinkling (or rather, chucking in a mad panic!) the metallic embossing powder on the text the very nanosecond it emerges from the printer, and I just can't get it to work...
I've set the printer to use the maximum amount of ink, I've set the font to BOLD and it just doesn't work!!
So if you have any great ideas as to how I can get their names embossed in metallic silver onto the card, please let me know!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and gave up... it was just too messy and they didnt turn out right no matter what I did..
In the end I just printed their names out using one of the greys on the co.our pallet in microsoft word that looks like silver.. looked ok :)
Have you tried the embossing pens? You can draw over the ink on the printed image with the embossing pens and then use the embossing powder on that.
How frustrating is this! I have the same issue. I just now print in a silver and gold shade. I have begged my husband to buy a super duper printer that prints in metallics and white ink but he keeps saying no! I'll keep working on him and convincing him he needs it too! One day....
Just a thought sweet, have you tried just going over the text with a clear jelly roll pen? It looks superb. I got the tip from Allie on the do-crafts web site. I couldn't figure out how she got her text to look so fab, so i asked! lol. Mand xxx
Hi there,
I thought I would pop over the Indian Ocean and have a look at your blog after you so kindly left a comment on mine! You have made some truly stunning cards, and I love the whirly thing-a-ma-jig - might have to get me one of those!
OK - to the business at hand... I have had success with embossing straight out of the printer, but only onto vellum, and using the finest grain powder, and a font that has good spacing between the letters, otherwise it just sort of melts into something not quite distinguishable.
Other times I use either a Versamark or EMBOSS pen and handwrite then emboss.
Or, there is a super fine ball point glue pen made by Sailor (2 in 1 glue pen) that may work.
Failing that, have you got a very small alphabet stamp set and a stamp positioner? I guess it really depends on how much space you have to put the names.
Someone above suggested a metallic pen, the best ones I have found are by Signo, their metallic silver is nice. Not dimensional like embossing, but a good smooth writing metallic pen.
I think I'll bookmark your blog and come back for more inspiration later, thanks!
